Accounts are optional
You can use this service without ever creating an account — "Continue as Guest" assigns a random temporary name and requires nothing from you. If you choose to create an account, we ask only for a username and password. We never ask for your email address, phone number, or real name.
Passwords and recovery phrases
Your password is never stored in readable form — it's run through a one-way scrambling process (hashing) before it touches our database, so even we cannot see or recover it. The same is true for your 12-word recovery phrase: we store a scrambled version, not the words themselves. If you lose both your password and your recovery phrase, we have no way to restore access to that account.
Your conversations
Messages you send are not stored by us. This is true whether you're logged in, using a guest identity, or hosting a paid room — your account status never changes how message content is handled. We do not keep a record of what was said in any room, who said it, or when.
Room lifetime
Every room is temporary. Once a room's active period ends, it and anything associated with it are permanently and irreversibly gone. There are no backups and no way for us to recover a room after this point. This applies equally to free rooms and paid/hosted rooms.
Abuse prevention
To prevent automated abuse (such as scripts rapidly creating many rooms or guessing passwords), we briefly check a connection's network address to limit how quickly certain actions can repeat from the same source. This check is temporary, held only in memory, never written to storage, and never linked to any message or conversation.
What we do collect
For account holders: a username, a securely hashed password, a securely hashed recovery phrase, and basic timestamps (account creation, last login). For everyone, including guests: anonymous, aggregate usage numbers — for example, how many rooms were created across the whole service. Usage numbers cannot be linked to any individual, conversation, or room.
Infrastructure-level data
Like virtually all internet services, the infrastructure providers we use may retain standard, short-term connection logs for security purposes, outside of our application's control. We do not access or use this data ourselves.
Age requirement
This service is not intended for children. You must be 16 or older to use it, and you confirm this directly before accessing the app. We rely on this confirmation and do not independently verify age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
